Merci
I don't know very well French, but I can tell you in English this photo is from the late 1950s, certainly not late '40s. Edith Piaf cut her hair after Cerdan's death (28 October 1949) and kept this hairstyle until her death.
Thank you Sergiu. Early 50's maybe (1952 ? when she married Jacques Pills ?), not late 50's, Marlene and Édith were not friends anymore because of the drug addiction of Édith and the face and the style (Dior) of Marlene are typical of the early 50's. However, Marlene was very sad when she died.
Maybe early 50s. I don't know very well Marlene's biography. Obviously you know it very well. I know she was at her funeral. There are even color pictures with Marlene from Edith's funeral. Maybe they are posted here by you.
Yes, she was at her funeral, after the official ceremony, with the public. Pictures here : http://marlene-dietrichcollection.blogspot.fr/2013/01/marlene-dietrich-aux-funerailles-dedith.html Thank you Sergiu.
